Right now, we are in the process of updating our kitchen under a budget. We let go our drop ceiling, replaced the light fixture, and changed appliances.  I am waiting for the weather to warm up a bit so I can paint the cabinet doors in the garage and I plan to try painting the counter top.  Stay tuned!

This morning, while making breakfast, I performed the quickest, cheapest update to my appliance garage!  Yep, just took a few minutes!

I purchased some washi tape that coordinated with the color of my ceiling.  I carefully placed each piece, tucking it at the ends and trimmed it with a razor blade.  Easy!

Here is what I used:

Scotch(R) Expressions Washi Tape, Woodgrain

Razor Blade

It was time. That was all the encouragement I needed to finally convince myself to get a puppy. Almost 2 weeks now, we adopted a cute, very loving, and special puppy to our mix.  While we had decided to commit to chickens, why not finally get a puppy.  The boys had been asking for a long time.

We found ourselves Dax, a shih tzu poodle mix.  He is now about 2.5 pounds and every pound of him is love!  He is smart and so sweet.  He is taking to housebreaking really, really well.  And he just loves everyone in the family.  I am first to admit that he is partial to me. Although he habitually notices anytime one of the boys, including my husband, enters the room, he had a habit of going back to my laugh after the meet and greet. I don’t want to come clean that this makes me happy and he’s starting to be my favorite boy in the family. I didn’t just say that!
